Sectional Ads in the District 7 News
Every sectional in District 7 is entitled to at least one free printing of a ½ page ad (4.8” x 3.8” printable area) for the tournament in the District 7 News. Depending on the timing, some sectionals may appear twice. Each issue roughly covers tournaments 3 to 15 weeks from the printing date. The exact dates may slide +/- one week depending on specific circumstances. Current timeline for issues of the District 7 News:

Tournament chairs should submit schedules and fliers (complete with schedule, location, stratification, host hotel with a bridge rate, and contact info for the tournament chair and partnership chair) to the ACBL tournament office (firstname.lastname@example.org) at least six months prior to the tournament. When approved, the flier should be emailed to the District 7 News editor (Andre Asbury, email@example.com).
Sectionals with 10 or more sessions and sectionals that are run concurrently with the Grand National Teams or North American Pairs District final are granted one full page (4.8” x 7.7”). Any sectional may increase its allotted ad size for $100 per half-page, if the tournament chair asks for it by the deadline for requesting space.
About two weeks before printing, the editor will send an email with the sectional ads to all tournament chairs with an ad for that issue to verify correctness as many ads need to be modified to fit the space requirements.
Regional Ads in the District 7 News
Every regional in District 7 will be printed twice in the District 7 News with the last printing being at least 3 weeks before the tournament. Tournament chairs need to do nothing extra for this; they will look exactly like the printed flyers.
Unit and Club News
Sometimes there is more news that people want to share that simply isn’t of a broad enough scope to make it into the District-wide section of the District 7 News. Units, clubs, and individuals can purchase space to publicize more local bridge news – write about some local games, give a recap of a sectional, list Mini-Mc-Kenney or Ace of Clubs MP winners, Unit Board events, publicize a new club or various other things. The District 7 News offers space for a low cost of $100 per half-page. The deadline for reserving space is the deadling to reserve space in the table above, but you can wait until two weeks before printing to send the info to have more timely news.
Other Bridge Advertising
For-profit bridge organizations are allowed to purchase space in the District 7 News for $150 per half-page, subject to availability and approval by the editor and the D7 Advertising Committee. The deadline to request space is the deadline to reserve space in the table above, and the as info needs to be sent two weeks before printing. Units and clubs have higher priority, so we may not be able to accommodate in all cases.
