Members and Duties of Tournament Operations Committee
Chairman is Vice-President of the District (Richard Smith)
Contracts (Larry Harding)
Supervise all contract preparation for venues and support Tournament Chair’s efforts to complete them. Create, distribute, and reconcile all free play certificates, including delivery to Tournament Chairs before the tournament starts.
Financial/Treasurer (Larry Harding)
Initiate and review all tournament P & E budgets. Review all DIC/POC reports of tournament results and check receipts, free plays, and other means of audit. Maintain bank accounts of tournament money and make transfers to the District 7 Treasurer.
Scheduling (Richard Smith)
Review and approve all regional schedules. Monitor ACBL inputs and changes affecting schedules and suggest new or revised events. Coordinate with Advertising on schedules before publication.
Advertising (Bob Heller)
Coordinates all facets of advertising in promoting District Regional Bridge Tournaments.
Coordination (District Tournament Coordinator Scott Dunn)
Perform and distribute Table Estimates 9 months to a year out for the TC and TOC treasurer to plan P&E Budget. Integrate District schedules with Sectionals and other Regionals. Assist in new location evaluation and selection.
P&P (Barbara Heller)
Review existing Regional P & P, recommend updates to Board, and oversee posting to the Website. Coordinate and write changes to the P&P, including training materials for all parties. Also coordinate Bylaws and District P&P to ensure all are in harmony.
TOC Point of Contact (Advisor) (referred to as TOCPOC)
Assigned to the Tournament by the TOC Chair. The TOCPOC’s primary responsibility is to be a resource and to be a troubleshooter for tournament chairs. He will work with the TC starting with the scheduling cycle on through completion of the tournament. On completion of the tournament, he will review and supervise collection of the tournament funds and receipts (from the tournament chair and director in charge) and transmit these to the Tournament Operations Committee treasurer. He is in charge of the District Suite and provides time scheduling and supplies for it. He is in charge of supervising all District support to the tournament chair, including seeding, C&E, and Recorder. He will coordinate visiting dignitaries such as the ACBL President and/or ACBL CEO
